TECHNICAL INTERVIEW
Technical interview will be one round of the recruitment process of Major IT companies. It may be kept as a separate round or may be part of general aptitude test. If prepared in the correct way we can make technical interview an easy round where we can shine very well.
Why Technical interviews are conducted???
Major IT companies like HCL, Wipro, Tech
Mahindra, Mahindra Satyam etc and even small companies rely on technical
interviews to check the technical knowledge of a candidate, thereby ensuring he
is strong in the basics. In Technical Interviews for IT Companies, questions
are mainly asked from C, C++, Java, DBMS etc which will be part of the
candidate’s academic syllabus. Thus depending on performance the interviewer
can analyze the ability of the student to learn, ability to understand logic
and mainly how strong he is in basics.
I’ve seen many students who scored
more than 90% or even 95% in exams telling “Everything ok, but technical round”.
This shows that even students who’ve mastered their subjects well are not confident
in attending a technical interview. This is not because of the lack of preparation
but because of the lack of proper method of preparation.
Oral and Written technical interview
Companies will conduct either an oral technical interview by a technical HR or a written interview or both.
Oral Technical Interviews
In an oral interview the interview the interviewer will ask questions to verify candidates technical knowledge in subjects. I think oral interview is tougher than written, because in the oral interview the candidate must not only answer to the questions asked but also have to satisfy the HR. The questions will be mainly from the candidates area of interest and skill set as shown in the resume. So while adding skill set and area of interest be sure that you are thorough with it.Written Technical Interviews
Here the candidate have to solve a set of questions within a short time. Here time management plays an important role.Preparing For a written Technical interview
by preparing in a specific way it is easy for a candidate to score well in a technical interview of C, C++, Java, DBMS etc.
1.) Be thorough with the concept.
2.) Understand how each process work internally in the memory.
3.) After being thorough with a concept try sample interview questions under that concept.
4.) If a question is a program first understand how the program works.
5.) Focus on the key part of the program based on what the result has to be obtained.
6.) While preparing if you find you cant answer a particular question go to the theory part of the concept understand it and try again.
Here I give some sample technical questions of C, C++, Java, DBMS for which complete explanation has been given.
1.) C Technical Questions
The technical questions in C++, JAVA, will be added soon. Blog under development....
